Edward Fried Obituary

Edward "Eddie" Fried of Glendale passed away with dignity and in the loving arms of Mary, his wife, soul mate, and best friend, June 18, 2007. He was born on June 6, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lois Fried. Eddie managed the family ranch in Hammond, LA for over 17 years. Eddie and Mary's love affair and marriage began in 1986. Eddie moved to Phoenix in 1989, to make a new life for him and Mary. He worked for Wayland Family Services and Devereux as a Behavioral Health Technician. Eddie felt his passion was in treating the mentally ill adults in his care. He was also passionate about golfing, the Chicago Bears, and watching cooking shows. He was known for his quick wit and humor. Eddie always wanted to "leave 'em laughing." He was very thankful and proud of his 17+ years of sobriety. Eddie loved life and was known for accepting everyone. He is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Mary Fried (Camping); best-friend, Jackie Siegler; David Fried (brother) Bend, Oregon; Katherine (sister) and Tom Block, Waban, Massachusetts. Eddie will be greatly missed by his God-son, John Kredit, his mother-in-law Trudy Camping, and his "surrogate mom" Jo Visser. Other surviving family include: Juanita Rose, Michael and Deb Camping, Tim and Della Camping, Paul Camping, Roger and Paula Camping. Eddie also had many nieces and nephews whom he was proud of. A Memorial Service celebrating Eddie's life will be held Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 11 AM at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd, Peoria. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Arizona Humane Society, 1521 W. Dobbins Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85041, or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix AZ, 85014. You will always be in our hearts, Eddie.

Ed (grasshopper)--

I loved shooting the bull with you at the office and in the bookstore.
I know you were always a special person with your fellow employees and your clients. You'll be missed. My thoughts are with Mary and Trudy. Godspeed.
