Elizabeth Butler Obituary
94, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2010. Elizabeth was born on November 7, 1915 in Chicago, IL, to Joseph and Louise Ankner, the second of eleven children. She met and married Mordie Butler, Sr. in Denver, CO. Elizabeth was a devout Catholic whose faith, strength, generosity and character touched everyone who knew her. In Elizabeth's final days she was surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years Mordie Sr, four brothers Charles, Adam, Thomas and Albert and two sisters Kathryne and Mary. She is survived by son Mordie Jr (Nita), daughters Elizabeth Butler and Barbara Butler, grandchildren Christina Pickering (Scott), Kathleen York (Keith), Theresa Diaz and John Butler, great grandchildren Mark, Victoria, Laura, Hannah, Jason, Samantha and Quinn, one brother Wayne Ankner (Carol) and three sisters Helen Story (Irv), Cecilia Coffey (Bill) and Phyllis Bonny. Visitation will be held Monday, April 5th from 6-8 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Rd. in Scottsdale. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 6th at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 7655 E. Main St. in Scottsdale. Burial will immediately follow at Phoenix Memorial Park, 200 W. Beardsley Rd. in Phoenix. The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of the Valley at Friendship Village for all the good care she was given. Messinger Indian School Mortuary is in charge of arrangements
