I work for a DoD agency outside of Washington, DC. Every year at Memorial Day, staff hand out cards to employees featuring the name of one of the almost 7,000 service members who have died in our national defense in the 21 years since 9/11. Today, I received SSG Cirmarrusti's name. Please know that others are thinking and praying for your loved one this Memorial Day. His legacy will not be forgotten. Let perpetual light shine upon him.

Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Ernesto G. Cimarrusti US Army Staff Sergeant.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,

Rusti,
You and Gonzo will always live in my memories unti the day I die. The good times, the bad times, and everything in between. In war.....and in peace.
Those will be the stories I will tell my grandchildren many, many years from now. The time when their grandpa was a soldier, and about the brave men he served with.
May you both "Rest In Peace".

Mi ni~o, it has been two years since you departed our side but you will never depart from my heart. Not a day goes by without having you in my thoughts. Whether I'm in the kitchen or a song. I think of when I would just grab you and start dancing with you...you would laugh...then you would say..."let's see if I remember cos it's been a long time"...my response would be "it's like riding a bike and YOU forget to dance, Never!"....you would laugh and dance either way. I miss you so much. I wanted to tell you "Thank You" for loving my daughter and you know I always told you that. It has been hard on her but she is trying. Vivianaiy? She mentions you all the time. She remembers when you would swing her around. When she looks at other little girls with their dad, she tells me "I remember when my dad and I would play like that". You are in her heart and in her thoughts and we will always make sure of that. My Ni~o, I miss you. I Love You. Till the next time.

I appreciate everyones sincerest expressions of sympathy and prayers. I am sorry I did not thank everyone sooner. I can honestly say I just crawled out of my shell. God bless all the mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, and children who have lost a loved one. Our fallen heroes will never be forgotten.
Year number 2, today. I am so proud of you Ernesto. I know you are in a better place. Although there are times I choose to be selfish and wish you were physically here. We miss you, your warmth, your caring. Not one day goes by without you in our thoughts, without a mention of you. That is what has helped me accept, live, keeping your memory alive, seeing your face everyday in Vivianaiy. The words and the advice or more like commands you used to prepare me incase of this has been what I have lived by. You were right.

Ever since the first day that you came into our family I told you that you were a son to me along with my two sons and that is just how it had always been, no matter what. I visit your Tree often at the Warriors Walk at Fort Stewart as well as the other guys. Thank you, mi nino, you were a great son to me. There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
I would also like to tell you about a website, http://groups.msn.com/SSPSoldierPor
traits/homepage,
where some wonderful people will make wood portraits of your fallen Hero for free for the immediate family. I became aware of this site when I wanted to do something special for Le Ron’s mother.

Neto, when I heard the news my heart stopped and a huge sadness came to my heart. My mind went back to our teenage years, and all the laughs and crazy things we did as kids came to my mind. How one day after watching the movie "Mi Vida loca" you, my brother and me decided it was a good idea to give each other tattoos, haha. We were only twelve or thirteen years old. Lucky for us they didn't stay!!! Ever since I joined the Army I would look you up on AKO but never found you. I wanted to hear about your military experience and share mine with you. You're friendship, although we hadn't seen each other in years, will always hold a very special place in my heart. May God keep you and one day we will meet again. To your family... May God give you strength and comfort in this very sad and hard time? God bless you!

My sincere condolences to the family of Staff.Sgt. Ernesto G.Cimarrusti. I am so sadden by yet the loss of another father My heart is broken. I write in your loved ones guest book to offer hope.
This tragedy has left a great hole in your sole which can never be filled. Let it become a window through which you may find strenth to honor his memory. Strenth to allow the moments of joy you have had together, bring you solace throughout the coming years and strenth to have greather compassion for those loveones who remain with you in life. It is as it has always been that "love knows not its own depth, until the moment of separation".
Your loved one will now take his place on the" Warriors Walk" at Ft. Stewart not to far from my son Sgt.Peter C Neesley, 25 December,2007 Baghdad. Your loss saddens my heart. May we all find strenth and peace through the window of grief.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
