Army Staff Sgt. Ernesto Cimarrusti

Not one day passes by that I dot think about you my brother, my hero.

I work for a DoD agency outside of Washington, DC. Every year at Memorial Day, staff hand out cards to employees featuring the name of one of the almost 7,000 service members who have died in our national defense in the 21 years since 9/11. Today, I received SSG Cirmarrusti's name. Please know that others are thinking and praying for your loved one this Memorial Day. His legacy will not be forgotten. Let perpetual light shine upon him.

We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Ernesto G. Cimarrusti US Army Staff Sergeant.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made...

I did not know Ernesto, but today I have come across this web page and wish to offer my sorrow for your loss. Please know that even total strangers are still honoring Ernesto and thinking about your family with good intentions.

You and Gonzo will always live in my memories unti the day I die. The good times, the bad times, and everything in between. In war.....and in peace.

Those will be the stories I will tell my grandchildren many, many years from now. The time when their grandpa was a soldier, and about the brave men he served with.
