Eveline Denious Obituary

Denious, Eveline A. "Andie"
wife of George B. Denious, passed away peacefully in her home on September 18, 2016, with her loving family by her side. She was born July 15, 1940 in Nashville, Tennessee, the middle daughter of the late Elbridge and Isobel (Cowan) Anderson. Andie held a master's degree in nursing administration and worked as the manager of the state's immunization program at the Arizona Department of Health Services. After her retirement, she remained active, continuing to work part time for the Department and The Arizona Partnership for Immunization. In more recent years she volunteered her time at the Desert Botanical Garden, and took painting classes. Those who knew Andie all describe her similarly - warm, giving, gracious, smart, and classy. She was a modern woman who equally relished her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, and health professional; and 'kept up with the times,' always dialed in to the latest innovations in technology, and owning the latest version of the iPhone. In addition to her loving husband George, Andie is survived by her children, son Michael Denious and his wife Kathleen, with sons Jake and Zac; and daughter Jean Denious and her partner Sarah Schmiege, with daughter Harriet. Andie is also survived by her younger sister Patricia Winters, with whom she remained close her entire life. A non-denominational celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arizona Partnership for Immunization, 700 East Jefferson Street, Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ. 85034.

So miss Andie she was a special neighbor to me at a time in my life when I needed a good friend she was there god bless her lovely soul

November 13, 2016

Andie welcomed me to the AZDHS Immunization Program, where I worked for a short time in 2005. Her personal warmth and southern graciousness was so genuine. And her laugh! Oh my, how infectious! I saw the notice of her passing in the AZBN newsletter. This great lady did so much good work for so many years for AZ's children and adults. To her family, I hope in some small way that you feel the admiration so many felt for your Andie.

I worked with Andie when I was younger, and now - even in Iowa - I sometimes think I see her. She was so sweet, gracious and I genuinely knew she cared about those around her. She was amazing and will always be remembered.

I am sadden by Andie's passing and will miss her dearly. I have known and worked with Andie since 1988 when Andie, Betty Finch, Linda Farris and others hired me at Maricopa County Community Nursing Program and then followed her and Betty to the AZ State Health Dept. They were my mentors in the Vaccine for Children Program and I owe everything I know to them. My heart felt prayers to her family for strength and comfort during this difficult time.
With deepest affection, Carole

The world has lost a special lady in the passing of Andie. Although I did not know her as a deep friend, she was my neighbor for 13 years, and I could not been more fortunate. Andie and her husband, George, have always been there for me while being gracious and respectful. Andie was a lady of class, composure and grace. I am saddened by her passing and send my heartfelt condolences to her husband George and family.
I know she is adding a touch of style and class to the heavens. Connie McNeel
