Gunther, F. Raymond
F. Raymond "Ray" Gunther passed away on June 20, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born August 14, 1948 to the late Fred and Kathleen Gunther in New Orleans, Louisiana. A resident of Phoenix for the past 25 years, Ray and his family previously resided in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Harvey, Louisiana. He attended Holy Cross High School and Loyola University in New Orleans. Ray served as a volunteer and Board Member for a number of charitable organizations, while enjoying a successful 45 year career in the food distribution industry. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mel Richoux Gunther, daughters Rebecca Rae Gunther Carangelo (Adam) of Phoenix and Katie Gunther Farquharson (Alistair) of Hermosa Beach, California, and his grandchildren, Keira Grace Farquharson and Ian Raymond Farquharson, Sisters, Mary Ellen Carrone of Metairie, Louisiana, and Margaret Faller of Hammond, Louisiana, brother Robert Gunther, a host of nieces and nephews as well as eight godchildren. A Memorial Service will be conducted in New Orleans at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Dignity Health Foundation East Valley. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff and doctors at Chandler Regional Hospital.
