Felix Jaramillo Obituary
87 of Phoenix, passed away on February 21, 2017. Felix worked in several restaurants as a young man, perfecting his love for cooking. As an adult Felix worked for Ray Lumber Co, and Shuck Components Systems for many years. In 1965, Felix and His Former Wife Betty, opened what is now an institution on the west side of Phoenix, Popo's Fiesta Del Sol. It is His recipes that have pleased three generations of the community. His motto," Mexican Food To Suite The American Taste." The Business is still thriving after 52 years. His other passion was his service To The Loyal Order of the Moose, In which he became The Governor of His Lodge, where he attained The North Moose. Felix flourished in The Fellowship, and Brotherhood of His Beloved Glendale Lodge. Felix is survived by his beloved wife, Emma Jaramillo; Sons, Joe, and Michael Jaramillo, 15 Grandkids, 33 Great Grandkids, and 16 Great- Great Grandkids. Visitation will be held at Advantage Funeral Home-Maryvale Chapel, 6901 W. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, Az, on Tuesday, March 28th from 5P.M.-7P.M with Rosary at 7P.M. Burial will be at 11:30 & 12 on Wednesday March 29th at Saint Francis Catholic Cemetery. Please enter through Gate 7 on Oak street, off of 48th Street. American Cancer Society of America, P.O. My sincerest condolences for your loss. I grew up with Popo's on the west side. It started out as a tiny business and just kept expanding. My parents and I ate there regularly for nearly 50 years. Thank you for the wonderful memories. He is truly a-west side icon. RIP

I remember Popo's when it first opened. I was in 8th grade going to be a freshman that year. We would have chips & salsa and wait for our delicious Mexican pizza . His son Johnny was dating one of my friends at that time so Popo (Felix) would fix it extra special. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet Felix Jaramillo. RIP.
