Derf was a good person and my friend. He was so proud of his two children and loved them more than life. So sorry for your loss.

I am so lucky to have known Dr. Derf. He took me as a locum pediatrician 18 years ago, then hired me full time into his staff. I learned so much from this easy going, wonderful person with a gold heart. He could diagnose anything with his instincts and he was always right! I will surely miss your occasional phone calls a long time ago, checking up on me to make sure I wasn't causing trouble, with "Hey, Rita! You okay? Bye!"
