Gary Clancy Obituary

Gary S. Clancy 1938 - 2008 Gary Salter Clancy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who passed away at age 70 on March 12th, 2008 at home. He was born to Warne and Mildred Clancy on February 13, 1938 in Pontiac IL. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in IL and attended Arizona State University. Gary was the president and CEO of Uni-Copy Corporation. He was also on the board of M&I Thunderbird Bank and would have made a great politician. The only thing that kept him out of politics was the fact that he was an honest man. Gary was a strong supporter of the Sun Angels Foundation, ASU basketball and anything that Frank Kush ever did was okay with him. How will ASU sports ever get along without him? He is survived by his "wannabe" trophy wife of 48 years, Mary Helen; 3 sons Scott, Todd and Chris; 3 grandchildren Matthew, Ethan and Noah; great grandchild Luke; brother Gregg and sister Donna Bondioli and lastly Bogey the golden retriever, who always brought him his morning paper and shed on all his clothes. He will always be remembered for his remarkable ability to make a short story long and those legendary eyebrows. Services will be held at the All Saints Episcopal Church at 6300 North Central on Monday Saint Patrick's Day, March the 17th at 11am. Reception immediately following the service at the Casabella clubhouse located at 7260 E Lincoln Drive Scottsdale. If you would like to make a charitable donation in Gary's name we suggest one of the two charities below: Arizona Humane Society: http://www.azhumane.org Rescue Golden Retrieve: http://www.golden-retriever.org

Gary and I were good friends at Morgan Park High School in Chicago. Among other things we collaborated in producing his "star" turn in a school production. Always a very funny guy, he went through an existentialist phase after graduation, complete with beret. I'm sorry we did not stay in touch. My deepest condolences to his family.

The last time I saw Gary was in the airport in '94. We had been competitors for years in business but had a genuine respect for each other. He was a true gentleman & I am sorry for your loss. I am daughter of original owner of Phoenix Copy,Seymour Stein, & former owner of the company myself. Cherish your wonderful memories.

Mary Helen and family:
May God be with you and your family at this time and may He give you peace knowing that Gary is in a better place. I can't tell you how much he was loved by so many in our office. He was undoubtedly one of the kindest and sweetest men I have ever known. Gary wasn't a client, he was a friend. He will be missed dearly at Tiffany & Bosco.
