Gaye Jolosky

Gaye Jolosky (Lewensohn) died December 18, 2020, in the Care Center of The Vi in Grayhawk.

Gaye was born on March 4, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her parents were Robert Lewensohn and Eva Lewensohn (Zeiger). She was the middle daughter of three. Her sisters, Joan Markoe (Lewensohn) and Karen Merrow (Lewensohn) are both deceased.

Gaye graduated from Shorewood High School, in Shorewood, Wisconsin, and thRn attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. In Madison she met Richard Jolosky and they were married in 1954 while Richard was in the United States Marine Corps.

After Richard's completion of his enlistment, they returned to Milwaukee where Richard attended and graduated from Marquette University. During this time Gaye worked in the family trucking business.

Gaye and Richard had 3 children, Robert Jolosky, Shari Jolosky, and Nancv

Richards. Robert has 2 children, Phillip and Leah, and Shari has 1 child, Melanie Sternberg. There are also 2 great-grandchildren, Phillip's children: Ava and Jaxon.

Over the 66 years they were married they lived in many places going from Wisconsin to Oregon to Arkansas and on and on until they settled in Scottsdale and finally, 7 years ago, arrived at the Vi.

Gaye was a committed volunteer for Hadassah, she was the President of the Northwest Region, Audio Readers (reading for the blind) in Kansas, a Hospice volunteer in Scottsdale, and endless medical volunteering assignments in almost every city she lived in. In addition, Gaye was a very good bridge player and she participated in many leagues and games. Puzzles, word games and cards were her hobbies and she excelled in them all.

Private family service has been held and the family hopes to have a memorial service in the Spring along with the dedication of her gravel stone.

If you want to honor her memory, contribute to any food bank, homeless shelter and organizations that help the abused.

Those who knew her will never forget her.
