We spent many memorable years traveling with George & JoAnn when he was in the AF and our children were young. George & Bud were in the same detachment and moved every few months to a new base. We stayed in the same trailer court and spent lots of time together and have wonderful memories of the family and our children playing together. In May 1961 we went to the Hilo Hattie Hawaiian Revue at Randolph AFB TX. When the evening was over and we were all sleeping, we woke George up and asked him to come to our trailer to stay with our children while I went to the hospital to have our 4th child. He didn't feel like it but he did not hesitate.

He was a good friend and a good soldier; he was reserved, smart and very talented. We will miss him.

Bud & JoAnn were our Air Force friends for many years; we moved from one location to another pulling our house trailers (mobile homes). We always stayed in the same trailer court at new assignments. JoAnn took care of our children often and the kids played together every day. One New Year's Eve, after we had been to the NCO Club at Randolph AFB to the Hilo Hattie show, we woke George up shortly after he went to bed to ask him to babysit our kids while I went to the hospital to have our 4th. He did it in spite of wishing he could sleep. I can't recount all our wonderful experiences but JoAnn remembers them all. He was a good soldier and a wonderful friend; we will miss him.
