Grant King Obituary
23 (July 25, 1988), of Scottsdale, AZ passed away on September 7, 2011. He worked for Heart Savers teaching CPR and First Aid so that others can SAVE lifes. He was an accomblished drummer and played with many local bands. His parents: Lesa(mother) and Dan West, Jack King(father). Siblings: Scott, Peggy, Suzanne, Jennifer, April, Jessica, Stephanie, brother and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Memorial Service to be held on September 12, 2011 at 7pm at Mountain Valley Comm. Church at 17800 N. Perimeter Dr., Scottsdale, 85255. Grant you were and still are, to this day great inspiration to me. You always had such an easy going and light hearted outlook on life. It's a travesty that you were taken from us so early. I cannot wait for the day that we can laugh with each other again. You sir were a true King of comedy. I know that you are watching each and every one of your friends. We miss you deeply. Until the day we meet again, I shall carry your memory with me.

My favorite story is when you were born. I was pulled from camp to come see you. Suz, Peg, Scott and I were all standing around the glass of the nursery. There was this kids screaming off the top of his lungs. I remember them saying I hope that is not our brother. Then out comes Jack pointing at you with such excitement.
You were always loud and wanted to be center of attention. I miss you coming in a room and taking over. Making people laugh. Your laugh was awesome. You had so many laughs. The not so funny laugh, this is me laughing for you laugh, this is hilarious laugh, belly laugh and the laugh that made you cry.
I love you. I always will. I will continue to KEEP GRANT MOVING until I leave this earth to be with you.

Uncle Grant,
Each day I have something that reminds me of you! You wouldn't believe how much Cheyenne has grown she is so much like you in quite a few ways, she loves people, she is caring and sensitive and is worried when people are hurting! She loves music and cars and the one thing that scares me most is her love for motorcycles she is infatuated with them, I will teach her safety and respect for them because I know how important it is to allow those you love to experience the things they love. I know our family has hard feelings towards your love of motorcycles but I truly believe there are always things that we do everyday that are dangerous and I cannot keep her in a bubble her whole life! You taught me so much about following passions and helping others! I love and miss you more than words can say. I know you are with GOD now and looking down on each and everyone of us! I love you to the moon and back.

I remember visiting one year with my friend Rachel in tow. Grant let us use his car for the week. There was one home-made CD stuck in the player and it only played a few of the songs on the CD. The rest would skip or hang. We listened to "Ridin Dirty" by Chamillionaire well over a hundred times that week. It became our theme song for the trip. To this day, I think of Grant and that car whenever I hear that song and I smile.
It is not fair to us left here that Grant has moved on to a better place. But life is not fair and the solace I find is I believe that Grant is in a better place and in the next phase of his soul's journey. We miss you Grant; but even in death, you have brought people together.
Although your parting was sad for many people, I am glad you got to be a hero to others!

I miss you, more than you could of ever imagined. I wish that I would of spent more time with you over the years, you really were an amazing uncle. Grant,
I have tried countless times to write you this note, I always hit delete. If only I could hit delete on this entire situation and have you back. Life would be so simple. I had to laugh when I thought what would Grant say if he knew he made his 1Di speechless. This was not a fair way to accomplish that Mr.
Grant you were an amazing kid, with a heart of gold. I cherish every good and bad time we had together. I will always remember watching you as a little boy so excited Trev and I came to watch you play baseball, to watching you suddenly grow up and start working with me at HIS, I will so miss your infamous Grant Bear Hug and giggly 1Di call as you entered through the front doors of the office.
You left so many memories for all that knew you, I will always cherish mine. You left many footprints that will be here for all time. I have even grown to suddenly appreciate the tapping sound of Aidan playing his Drums like Grant taught him when he was so little.
You will never be forgotten. I love you!

i remember camping with you and friends by the river.. kates bug getting stuck in the mud and having to push it all the way to camp site .. laying under the stars and in the morning laughing cause some guys decided to have tent on a mount of dirt that after morning rain it became an island and they were surround by water had to carry everything to dry place... i will cerish the fond memories that we had.. you were a great man with a huge heart and passion for everything and everyone around you... ur what they call a hero ... your truly missed here but will meet again someday...

As a student of one of Grant's CPR courses- I wanted to extend my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. I was not looking forward to having to spend a Saturday morning at class but Grant made the time pass quickly. Oh Grant. It hurts me deeply that you're gone. Mainly because I didn't get the chance to actually know you better. However, what I did know is this....your smile was amazing and accompanied your laugh perfectly. Whenever you were over at Marina and my apartment, you were always so pleasant to speak to. I had always wanted to see you play the drums, but only got to watch you play them on Rockband 2 =)
I just want you to know the only reason I watched the movie Hall Pass was only because you described a part of the movie that funny, but turns out, you made it funnier than it actually was.
The last time I saw you I was just getting home and you were leaving and I asked, "leaving so soon?" and your reply was just simply, "yeah, I gotta go". If only I would've known then what we all do now. "Yeah, I gotta go" should not have been like this.
