Helen Dickson Obituary
78, of Glendale, Arizona passed away on December 19, 2010. Helen was born in Muskegon, MI and moved to Arizona in 1966 with her lifelong partner and husband Tom. Tom and Helen were married 55 years and Tom preceded her in death in 2005. Her fight with cancer was symbolic of her life: she fought tenaciously but with dignity, grace and selflessness. Helen was always focused on family. She was the heart of the family, and they were with her until the end. Helen is survived by daughters Nancy Lakin of Glendale and Janet Hawthorne of Phoenix, sons Tom (and Lisa) of Glendale and Steve of Seal Beach, CA. Grandchildren Jenille Weekes, Melissa Mark, Rodney Lakin, Elizabeth Lakin, Evan Hawthorne, Tyler Dickson, Alissa Dickson, Juliana Dickson, Daniel Dickson, and Ali Dickson. A celebration of Helen's life will be held on Wednesday, December 29th at 7250 W. Tina, Glendale, AZ from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

My grandma Helen has always had a special place in my heart. Everything I know about love, grace, strength, and family.. I learned from her. She had a beautiful strength about her and put her family before anything. Almost every great memory of my life involves my grandmother. I love her and I´m grateful I got to be her grandson.

Aunt Helen was always so good to me. I have many wonderful memories of her and are grateful that I had a chance to spend time with her recently. She was a funny, kind, and strong woman who set a great example for the rest of us. She will always have a special place in my heart.

It is so sad to say good bye to our loved ones. My sincere condolences to the family and friends. I am so glad that I was able to meet Helen on trips to AZ. She will be greatly missed. Hold on to the happy memories. RIP dear Helen.
