Born on March 23, 1907 in Crafton, Texas, Mrs. Lunt arrived in Phoenix with her parents, Stanton and Nora Cone, sister Catherine, and brother Kent in 1919 riding in an open Model T Ford. She attended Lamson Business College where she met her late husband, Guy Warren Lunt. Mr. and Mrs. Lunt had a homestead in Rainbow Valley, and were early residents of Prescott and Phoenix. She was a leading contributor and asset to the Republican Party. She was an early member of the original downtown Palmcroft Baptist Church and a faithful Christian. Mrs. Lunt was noted for her skills as a seamstress, fine needlework, beautiful quilts, photography, and many acts of loving kindness toward her family and neighbors. She retained a keen interest in nutrition, current events, politics, and daily Bible study throughout her life. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nora Lunt Boyarsky and Geoffrey, daughter-in-law Ray Lunt Haag, five grandchildren and their spouses: Eleanor Hollingsworth and Keith, Becky Holaway and Brad, George Sampson and Robin, Helen Sampson Winfrey and Victor, Robert Rogers and Peta. At Mrs. Lunt's request, no memorial will be held. However, memorial contributions in her name can be made to Hospice of the Valley and Glencroft.

It was so good to see Helen at the Night Owls Reunion in May, and be able to speak with her. She will be remembered with fondness by those of us who knew her and share her love of quilting. Our prayers are with the family.
