Hope Fye Obituary

Hope Adeline Fye, a native Arizonian, born in Coolidge on January 11, 1932 to Joe Chapman and Icyphine Chapman Winngingham, passed away May 28, 2004 from an aneurysm. Mrs. Fye resided in Strawberry Arizona with her husband and best friend, William R. Fye since 1976. She was crowned "Miss Casa Grande of 1949" and graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1950. Attended nursing school at St. Josephs Hospital in Phoenix and was a member of the Hoemako Hospital Auxiliary Board. She was an active member of Cottons Wives Club of Casa Grande, and did fashion modeling on numerous occasions. Until the onset of crippling rheumatoid arthritis in 1965, she was an avid golfer and tennis player. She was a big NASCAR fan, with Michael Waltrip as her favorite driver. She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Chapman, sister, Barbara Chapman Hutchins and previous husband Aulton S. Harris. She is survived by her husband, William R. Fye, mother Icyphine Chapman Winningham, Casa Grande AZ, aunt Hazel Murray, Cove, AR, daughters Stephanie Borrero, Sacramento, CA, Susan Turner, Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren Jennifer Robin-son, Chad Robinson and a great-grandchild Cooper Charles Robinson all of Sacramento, CA. Nephews Larry Spires, Scottsdale, AZ, John Spires, Norfolk, VA, Kirk Spires and Mark Spires. Other survivors include Marilyn Helton, Modesto, CA, Susan Calvert, Phoenix, AZ, Pat Grogg, Casa Grande AZ, Connie Tate, Lakeside, AZ, Jill Fye, Cliffside Park, NJ and William R. Fye, Jr Mesa AZ.
