Ida Stafford Obituary

Stafford, Ida Jane
Litchfield Park, AZ joined the angels on September 25, 2015. Born in Pocahontas County, Iowa she graduated from Iowa State Teachers College. She started her teaching career in a one room school house. In 1948 she moved to Arizona where she became a dental assistant, graduating in the 1st class of American Dental Assistants of Arizona. After several years she resumed her education at ASU and received a Master's Degree, with honors, in education. Ida taught 3rd grade in the Dysart School District for 25 years. She was also a member of Eastern Star for 60 years. Mrs. Stafford is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Stafford. She is survived by her daughters Claudia Hohnbaum (Steve), Candy Kennedy (Dick), Crystal Spain, 8 grandchildren, 16 grandchildren, and her sister, Sharon Scott (Scotty). A viewing will be held 6:30-8:00 pm, Tuesday, September 29 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ. The funeral service is planned on Wednesday, September 30, 11:00 am, at The Church at Litchfield Park, 300 N. Old Litchfield Road, Litchfield Park, 85340. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church at Litchfield Park or Hospice of the Valley. Condolences for the family can be left at www.thompsonfuneralchapel.com.
