Jack Volkers Obituary
was born in Dennison, ILL. on April 20, 1931. He proudly served his country as Cpl US Army and a Korean War Veteran. He owned a Service Station and Co-owned a car dealership.He moved to Phoenix in 1984. He worked at the Biltmore as a Security Officer . During his retirement years he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Michael and Christopher. He also made annual trips to ILL. to see his son Bruce and his four grandsons. He is survived by a brother Melvin Volkers, a sister Charlene Holmes, a daughter Susan Strong , five sons Bruce Volkers , Steve Forte , Timothy Volkers, Brian Volkers and Shawn Volkers, 11 grand children and 1 great-grand child. Services will be held on Wednesday March 14, 2007 at Best Funeral Home ,501 E. Dunlap Phoenix,from 6pm-9pm. Internment will be Thursday March 15, 2007 at the National Cemetary Of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix at 1 pm.

My brother was always there for me and I love him dearly and will miss him so much. He was a wonderful brother and friend to me down through the years. He will always be loved and missed by his family. His family is in my prayers and thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in your time of greif. My memories of Uncle Jack are from when I was young, I didn't have the chance to really know him well, but my heart goes out to all of you who did. The bond between a father and daughter can be strong, and Sue, I know you and your Dad shared that special bond, hold on to that it will give you strength.I know he will be missed. I only met him once -- at Susan's & Lee's wedding but I thought he was such a nice man and Susan's and his love for each other was evident. I know Lee ( My grandson) and Christopher (great grandson) also cared for him very much. He will be greatly missed by them.
