Wow Jamie. It's seems like forever but me and my family miss you every day. You are constantly remembered. Seriously. I speak so highly of you to whoever will listen. You were indeed my brother from another mother. I was just telling of your accolades this morning to a fellow friend and attorney and how much you did for the Sojourner Center and Boys and Girls Clubs. I remember one Saturday I opened the door and you had sent a crew of workers to install french doors at my house out of your own good will. You are and always will be amazing. I hope to see you soon in heaven (well, not that soon LOL). Give me a few more years here on earth okay? Just wanted to let you know that me, Biby, Pebbles, Little Biby and Tony will always hold you close to our hearts. We love you buddy. Always will. To infinity and beyond.

My name is Bob Janik. I went through grade school with Jamie and used to hang out at his house. His family was very kind to me and loving. Jamie was like a brother. I remember in 7th grade our basketball team beat the 8th graders.I was shocked to here of Jamies death and so young.I hope you all know he's in a better place and doesn't have to suffer any more!!!!!

Jamie and I went to grade school together,I lived on Oak St and he on Palm Lane.We beat the 7th graders in basketball because we had a tight group.I spent a lot of time at the Brody house and always felt welcomed (thank you for taking me in) Jamie was always thinking of others and really was the brains behind our teams.I was sorry to hear of Jamie passing at 48,seams like the Lord takes the good ones sooner.I am 62 and realize that we all are born and we are all going to die.I too am close to passing and have the confidence of being with the Lord because his shed blood is the only free passage to eternity.Ask the Lord in your heart and he we send his Holy Spirit in (behold I stand at the door and knock,if you open the door i'll supp with you,and you with me)Life is short no matter how long you live,I,m sure Jamie would want all to hear this message.

I never had the honor of meeting Jamie but those that speak of him today absolutely glow. On Tuesday - I was presented the Jamie Brody "It's for the Kids Award" from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix. I am so humbled and I had to find a way to honor his legacy. This guest book now is permanently available online for all to read and share memories of Jamie. I will do my best to continue to extend the shadow Jamie cast and make a difference for kids in our community.

ONE YEAR AGO (AUGUST 11, 2005)............
ONE YEAR AGO TODAY WAS THE DAY YOU WENT TO HEAVEN,
GOD MUST HAVE TAKEN YOU TO A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE YOU WERE ONLY 47.
A YEAR AGO LAST NIGHT I HEARD MY LAST WORDS FROM YOU,
THEY WERE “I LOVE YOU BUDDY BOY” AND I REPLIED “DAD, I LOVE YOU TOO.”
SO MUCH HAS GONE ON THIS PAST YEAR WITHOUT YOU BEING HERE,
EVERYTIME I THINK OF YOU ALL I CAN DO IS PRETTY MUCH SHED A TEAR.
MY LIFE HAS CHANGED DRASTICALLY WITH YOU BEING AWAY,
I TRY TO MAKE THE BEST OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND TAKE LIFE DAY BY DAY.
NOT HEARING YOUR VOICE EVERYDAY IS WHAT I TRULY MISS,
NOT TO MENTION YOU NOT COMMIN OVER EVERY NIGHT TO GIVE JOJ AND I A KISS.
OUR BOND WAS UNBELIVEABLE AND WE WERE ALWAYS SO CLOSE,
NOT BEING ABLE TO GO TO GAMES WITH YOU IS SOMEHTING I MISS MOST.
MOM HAS BEEN AMAZING AND THAT’S SOMETHING SHE WILL ALWAYS BE,
SHES HELPED JOJ AND I GET THROUGH AND I KNOW THAT’S WHAT YOU’D WANT TO SEE..
ON THE OTHER HAND YOU HAVE A BROTHER WHO’S NOT ACTING THE WAY YOU’D WANT HIM TO,
I KNOW YOU WOULDN’T BE HAPPY WITH HIM AND I’M NOT SURE WHEN HE’LL GET A CLUE..
YOU WOULDN’T APPROVE OF THE WAY HE HAS BEEN,
I KNOW YOU’D LOOK AT HIM AND TELL HIM THAT HE IS CREATING A SIN.
JOJ AND I ARE MISERABLE WITH BARRY BEING THE “POWER-TRIP” TRUSTEE,
HE’S BEEN CRUEL AND PAINFUL AND I KNOW YOU’D WANT HIM REMOVED SO WE WOULD BE HAPPY.
THIS HAS BEEN THE HARDEST YEAR OF MY LIFE AND I DON’T THINK I’LL EVER BE THE SAME,
I THINK ABOUT YOU EVERY DAY AND IM MAKING IT MY BUSINESS TO CARRY OUT YOU FAME!
I MISS YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN DESCRIBE AND NO ONE WILL EVER REPLACE MY DAD,
I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND I NEVER THOUGHT THAT A DAY IN MY LIFE WOULD EVER BE THIS SAD.
……………………………………………………………………………
DAD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND MISS YOU TERRIBLY. YOU’RE WITH ME IN MY HEART EVERYDAY AND I KNOW YOU’RE ALWAYS LOOKING DOWN ON ME. YOU WERE THE BEST DAD ANY CHILD COULD ASK FOR AND I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT OUR TIME TOGETHER WAS SO SHORT. YOU WERE THE BESTEST! I LOVE YOU DADDY MAN!

Hey Uncle Spikey, its your niece cock eyed jenny. I just want to fill you in with whats going on in my life. We will first start of saying that I miss you terribly, but you are with me in whatever I do. Just last week there was a tsunami warning in San Diego, the only person I wanted to talk to was you, I knew that you would of had a laugh about that, infact you would probably put those same cones on your head and walk out to the beach and check out the scene!!! Next off I am a junuior in college and in 2 years I will be heading off to law school, I hope one day I will be an amazing attorney like you!!! I work at this amazing law firm in downtown san diego, I love every minute of it. I am going to try and get involved in some volunteer work, now its my turn to step up to the plate and follow in your footsteps. Spyke I miss you so much, I still dont understand that you are not physically here with us. I talk to jo ji, jasy, and booie often as always we have a grand time. I love you very much, and take care of everyone up there!!!!
Love,

Uncle Spyke,
A week before you passed on we went out to breakfast in sunny San Diego. Not only was this breakfast, the story behind it still makes me laugh. We went to three different restaurants and found out it took half an hour to just get some water. So what does uncle spyke do insead? We go to a little snack and cinnamon roll shop for breakfast. Most normal people would order a cinnamon roll!!! Uncle spyke orderd a rubin sandwich...It is memoires like this that I will cheerish forever. It hasnt hit me yet that you are no longer with us tangibly. Whats more important that our memories and experiences will live on forever. Spyke you have been an amazing uncle, mentor and a good friend. You have made everything in my life that much better. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face and allowing me to be part of your life. What you have left behind is many foot steps in the right direction for myself and my brothers and sisters to follow. More importantly thank you for giving me the most amazing cousins which I consider to be my brother and sister. I love you forever and for always.

Dear Brody Family...Jamie had a lot of best friends, but when asked, I would always say Jamie was my best friend. I've known Jamie for 25 years and remember the first day way met and everything that we have done since. For example, he was the Best Man in our wedding 14 years ago.
Jamie was the most influential person in my life; he taught me to be kind to all and he would tell me, "You get what you give".
He also introduced me to many of his friends in AZ. All of you have been so kind, Jamie had a knack for bringing people together, what a talented man!
He was the last person I saw the day he went into the hospital, although I visited him each day, except for the last two days (he was doing so well and I had to leave town), I was very sad that day when Nate Norris called to inform me of Jamie's passing.
I will miss you, Jamie.

The light of his soul, the gift of his spirit and the love of his life that he shared with all, I treasured. Thank you Jamie for your wisdom, confidence and vision. You touched so many in ways that we encountered daily. May the tree that we planted grow forever, as I will always remember your words, "this tree Tammy represent safety and new life for all that will stand together to end violence, the very violence you work so hard to prevent with your everyday peace." Your gift of peace will always be remembered and carried forward as we continue to resolve to change our violent world. For Susan, Jason, Sammi Jo and Mrs. Sheila Brody thank you for sharing Jamie with all of us. His gift of time for those in need provided such relief to all.
Jamie our students will grow in your memory and we will continue to pledge to live violence free. Today I plant another tree marking our pledge to create a violence free community.... and we will water the mighty oak together.

In the short few months I knew Jamie was a deep impression of a lifetime. I spent a few days and nights with Jamie on our annual 2004 Youth of the Year houseboat trip with the with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. He brought his speed boat for the kids to have fun on the lake. Quickly I got to know his great sense of humor when I prepared grits (like cream of wheat) one morning for breakfast, and everyone tasted them except Jamie. All I could see was this hidous look on his face and he said "oh no those look dangerous". In fact Jamie criticized my grits so bad that he suggested that we use them just in case we have a mechanical problem on the boat and need to clog a pipe. I still laugh about that! Jamie you are so missed.

I am still finding it hard to believe that Jaime is gone. He had such a great spirit and attitude, and he was always willing to help. When I wanted to be a Chef, Jaime offered to put me in contact with his friend Eddie Matney. When I decided to go to UofA instead, he wished me luck, even though he thought I should go to ASU like him, and told me if I ever needed anything, he would help. It was during a speech I gave to the United Way that I referred to Jaime as my 'Crazy Uncle'. He laughed harder than anyone else there, and the nickname stuck...many people at the Boys & Girls Club started calling him Crazy Uncle Jaime. To my Crazy Uncle, your kind and sharing heart will forever be remembered and missed. To his family, thank you for sharing Jaime with us. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Brody Family,

To Jamie's family,
Words simply are insufficient to express the sorrow we are feeling now. Knowing that, as Jamie's close family, you must be suffering terribly, we are hoping that all the kind words people have to say are comforting.
We want to tell you about a kind deed Jamie did for us. When he found out who Don's baseball hero was, Jamie went out of his way to have this baseball great sign a ball for Don. This is a gift Don treasures and is sitting in front of us as we write this.
Jamie also spent countless hours helping us with our legal needs--and even more hours being our friend. When Paul Weiser told us of Jamie's death today, we said, "He wasn't just our attorney, he was our friend." Paul said all Jamie's clients felt the same way. This gift of friendship Jamie gave so freely is one of his legacies. His life was truly a blessing.
With sincere sympathy,
Greg Reeve

I cannot express how deeply saddened I feel at Jamie's passing. My heart is filled with sorrow each day since his memory surrounds my every day existence. Jamie was not only my boss, but he was a true friend and a genuine part of our family circle. For close to 20 years, I watched the lives that were touched by his precious soul. A soul that was taken from this world much too soon. In his years of living on this world, he accomplished more than many men would accomplish in a lifetime. He helped so many children and families, and was a mentor to so many teens (mine included). In speaking to so many of Jamie's friends and loved ones, I heard it said that Jamie was everybody's best friend. That was because he made us all feel as if each and every one of us were his "best friends". He always gave whoever he was with his undivided attention, and then some. He made me laugh, he made me cry, he never gave up on me and always pushed me to be a better person. He saw in me what I did not see for myself, and always strived to help me find it. I will miss him . . . everyday, every hour, every second. Jamie, my friend, my brother, my "compadre", God blessed us with your presence. Susan, Jason, Sammi Jo, Barry, Sheila, Marilyn, and all of the Brody family, we love you and may God give you strength.

Jamie, you were a great man, as we all know. My basketball coach, my best friend`s dad, and most of all, my friend. For my whole life, people have told me that there is reasoning behind every event, but I see no reason to this. I`ll miss you dearly and my heart go`s out to Jason, Susan, and Sammi jo... I truly love each and every one of you, for being there for me in similar times during my dad`s accident. Not often do you find a family like yours. A family full of genuine people who really care. Jamie, always there to make me laugh and smile. Sammi Jo, went out of her way and gave me a ride to school every day in incredibly hard times for me. Susan, for being there for me always, specially in time of need. And jason, for being the best friend I could ask for. For always making me laugh, and always being there for me.
Once again, my heart go`s out to the Brody family, you guys did not deserve this. Jamie you will be dearly missed.
