Janet May Obituary
Janet, beloved mother, wife, sister, and daughter passed away on June 19th, 2021, at Hospice of the Valley. She was born October 17th, 1928, in Long Beach, California to, Grover and Beulah Litchfield.
Janet was an intelligent, funny, gracious, loving person who loved history. She worked tirelessly not only for her family but her community. In the 60 years of living in Paradise Valley, Arizona, she and Eugene, her husband of 48 years, raised six children.
Janet volunteered at Rainbow Retreat for battered women, Franciscan Renewal Center, and the Sunshine Acres Children's Home, where she loved to cook for the boys. In addition, Jan chaired every committee at our neighborhood pool club Melrose Swim Club. Once her kids were in school, she started her own business, "Phoenician Travel," next to her family. It was her pride & joy.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 48 years, Eugene May, her son Dennis May, and daughter Deborah May-Sortino.
Janet is survived by her children Gary (Barbara), Laura, Karen May (husband Glenn), Lisa (Michael), as well as her ten grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 13, 2021 10:00am at Venue 8600 - 8600 E Anderson Dr, Scottsdale, AZ 85255
