Jacobson, Jay F.
After a full life, Jay Jacobson 72, passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2011. His beloved wife Janie (Louise) of 43 years was at his bedside along with his three sons George 40yrs, twins John and Jim 38yrs, and one sister Janet Breit and family of Glendale, AZ. He has a long time very special friend Don Hoffman of Dewey, AZ. He will also leave a void in the heart of his little dog Schnickers. Jay served his country aboard the U.S.S. Bennington in the Navy for 6yrs. Born in Waverly, Iowa, and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1946. Jay worked for the government plant for Motorola on the Sidewinder missile for 14yrs. He also worked for the City of Phoenix in Traffic Signal Maintenance for 28yrs until he retired as a Supervisor in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, trap and skeet shooting and gold prospecting in his early years. Jay had great intellect, a wonderful sense of humor and a gentle soft spoken spirit. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. A Celebration of his Life will be held in late October. "Babe I'll miss your pledge."

As and adult I did not spend very much time Uncle Jay which I do regret very much but as a child a spent a lot of time at Aunt Janie and Jay's house. He always had a fun story to tell or a funny joke. His spirit and legacy will definitely live on in his "Boys" George, Jim & John. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and always. We love you all very much!

It was always such a wonderful time visiting with the clan "out west". I have such fond memories of all of you, but i especially remember my first trip to arizona. Uncle Jay took me to see the "desert". We hunted for clay pieces under the cactus and he cautioned me to watch out for anything moving under there! We sighted wild donkeys and cows. But I was the only 13 yr old who ever got to target shoot in the desert!. Although he was ever so quiet, he was a great presence and was always interesting to talk to. He was never hurried and spent time just chatting it up with you. He was a blessed man to spend his last days with those who loved him the most.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Jay for a few good years, i will never forget the stories and how much love he had in his heart for his family!!!! I love the Jacobson family with all my heart and i will always be there for you!!!!!
