As a former patient, I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Jerome Levine's passing. He made a profound impact on my life.
I first came to know Dr. Jerome Levine in the early 1970s after suffering a motorbike accident which resulted in 5 broken bones in my right foot. I was only 16, living in Detroit. Dr. Levine, along with Dr. Terry Freed performed a miraculous surgery, resetting all bones, without pins, and monitored my recovery. Dr. Levine stressed the importance of NOT trying to walk on it, refusing my requests (along with my parents) for a "walking cast" as I began to heal. 90 days later, my cast was removed and I slowly resumed normal activity. I am now 65 years old. I walk and run regularly and have NEVER had any issues with my foot. Over the years, I have shared this story with friends, family and acquaintances, leaving them amazed, especially when they see the numerous healed incisions (stitch marks).
My sincere condolences to the family.
Dr. Jerome Levine was a truly gifted man who allowed this man to walk a normal life!
