Dear Renee, Diane and I just now heard of the passing of Jerry. We looked up the obituary on the internet, for we no longer subscribe to the Arizona Republic. We will miss such a dear friend that I enjoyed trading literary efforts with, and who took care of our physical infirmities while in Phoenix. He was a one of a kind doctor, who took care of his ailing patients at all hours of the day or night. And he married a one of a kind woman, who helped him achieve a spiritual side to the healing of the sick and wounded. Our love to you and the family. Please know that he was a noble man. To the family of Dr. Haggard, I was a patient of his at the Greenwood facility for many years and after his first stroke and the termination of his practice I lost touch with him until I started back to working at the Jordan River Temple and I saw him almost every Friday over this past year or so and we renewed acquaintencship and he never let me get by with out a hand shake and greeting as I would come in to do my shift or when I saw him come through the veil. I share with you in feeling that he was a great man and much loved.

Dear ReNee,
Without Jerry, Merle and Cam Carden and their family might not have joined the church. If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't have married John and had such a wonderful family. We will always remember Jerry with great appreciation, love and fondness.

Dear Renee,

I was a member of the League of Utah Writers who greatly enjoyed having Jerry among our membership. We valued his knowledge and enthusiasm greatly, and missed him when he no could no longer attend. I remember he gave me the nickname of "The Mudslinger," which I still use when I give talks about writing. I also went to BYU with a Cristie Haggard, who was my "family sister" and now I'm wondering whether she was his daughter. Thank you for sharing Jerry with The League Of Utah Writers. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Goates Campbell

Jerry was a wonderful man, who also put the other person first. He was one of the first people to greet us when we moved into his home area two years ago. It's hard to move into a new area, but Jerry alway had a hardy hand shake and big smile every Sunday and made us feel right at home. Larry and I will really miss him. Our throughts and prayers are with Ranae and the family at this time. Thanks Jerry! Larry and Patti Finch
