Jerry Sigel Obituary

Jerry Sigel, 74, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, formerly of Ottumwa, Iowa, died April 28, 2005, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. He was born March 22, 1931 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Ben and Ida Segelman Sigel. He married Virginia (Ginny) Havercamp on June 5, 1960. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2003. He and his wife owned and operated Sigel's Furniture in Ottumwa. They moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1987 where they owned and operated Sigel's Fine Floors, retiring in 1997. He was a member of B'Nai Jacob Synagogue in Ottumwa and Temple Beth Emeth in Scottsdale. Survivors include a daughter, Deena Sigel of Scottsdale; a son, Larry (Michal) Sigel of Ankeny, Iowa; a granddaughter, Alexandra Sigel of Ankeny; and two brothers, Alan Sigel of San Francisco, California and Dr. Norman Sigel of Fresno, California. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services were held on May 2, 2005 at the Ottumwa Jewish Cemetery with Arnold Sigel officiating. Memorials made be made to Hospice, 312 E. Alta Vista, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501 or Temple Beth Emeth, PO Box 2831, Scottsdale, AZ 85252. Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa is in charge of arrangements.
