Hamilton, Joe F.
87, of Peoria, Arizona died peacefully at Hospice of the Valley on October 22, 2014. Joe was born in Magoffin County Kentucky on December 18th 1926 to John (Brack) Calhoun Hamilton and Dora Lea Wisecup. Joe was interested in electronics and after serving in the Army Air Corps, he received his Engineering degree from the Univ of Kentucky. Upon graduation, he traveled Europe and Libya for G.E. installing radar-based guidance and targeting systems for the Air Force. His next job would bring him to a radar station in Cape Cod, MA where he met his wife of 53 years, Barbara Taylor. They moved to Phoenix in 1963 and he took a job at Goodyear Aerospace working on projects including the SR-71 spy plane and MX missile platform. In 1982, the family moved to Peoria where Joe created a desert oasis of fruit trees and pines on his large property. Joe has been a faithful member of the LDS church since the early 1970's. He was beloved by his church, family and friends as well as countless missionaries to whom he gave guidance and support. He is survived by his wife, Barbara and their children: James F Hamilton, Alan S Hamilton, Andrea B Allenberg, Stephen F Hamilton; his grandchildren: Amanda R Allenberg, Brent F Hamilton and Macey S Hamilton. Services held on 10/29 at 10:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 7871 W Acoma Drive, Peoria, AZ 85381 Services by Legacy Funeral Home.
