John Higgins Obituary

John Robert Higgins

John Robert Higgins, 80, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 4th. He was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and traveled and moved to interesting places like Germany, Iran, and the states of Mississippi, Ohio, and Missouri due to his father's job as a civil engineer. He also spent 4 ½ years in the Air Force working on electrical equipment for bombers and tankers. He came to Phoenix, Arizona in 1965 and became a pulmonary therapist. He met and married Linda Loken in 1968 (who passed away in 2008) and they had two loving daughters. He continued his career in the medical field becoming a cardiographer and later began a flourishing business doing mobile echocardiograms. In 2009, he met Pam who became his partner in life until the very end. During his lifetime he loved the outdoors, camping, hiking, boating, golfing, bowling, watching movies, and had a true passion for playing chess. His treasure, however, was his family, and he had a deep love for videotaping and capturing all of the special moments and events of their lives throughout the years. He was an amazing father and loving grandfather, and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his two daughters - Stephanie and Kristin, four grandchildren - Jake, Grace, Ella, and Katy, older brother - Ron, son-in-law - Drew, partner - Pam, and best friend - Troy. The family will be holding a memorial service and the date is yet to be determined. "You will forever be in our hearts."
