John Lindstrom Obituary

Lindstrom, John "Jack"
passed away on December 2nd in Phoenix at the age of 92. A native of Arizona, Jack was born on April 21, 1918 as one of six children. An outstanding athlete, he won the Greenway Track and Field meet and represented Arizona in the Junior Olympics in Atlantic City in 1931. He played basketball as a member of the "wonder team" at Phoenix College and received an athletic scholarship to Arizona State University. Jack was elected Student Body President at both Phoenix Union High School and Phoenix College. After graduation from college he enlisted in the Navy and served as a Company Commander who trained troops in San Diego during WWII. Jack taught for the Wilson School District, was the Superintendent of the Murphy School District and was an Assistant Superintendent of the Creighton School District. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Margo, to whom he was married for 65 years. He is survived by his daughters Jacque Ryan and Gwen McCarthy, five grandchildren and one great grandson. Services will be held on Thursday, December 9th at 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood Serenity Chapel at 2300 West Van Buren Avenue in Phoenix.
