Betty Turner

I haven't seen Dr.Roads since 1974 when I moved to Mesa. Movie away from him was one of the most traumatic things I've ever done. When my children were babies he was my strength. Dr. Roads delivered my twin daughters and also my son at St. Joseph's hospital. He was such a wonderful doctor and was always so positive and encouraging and got me through many emergencies over the years. When I would call him frantic with questions about a sick child he always remained calm and would say "Betty you can handle this" He had confidence in me and taught me so much. I will always have very fond memories of this wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Dear Aimee and family,

I was so very sorry to hear about your father's death. Although I have not yet met any of my Arizona cousins, I was very sad for your and our loss. I was glad I had sent Jack a Christmas card in December 2006.

Judging by what has been written online here about your dad, he was loved by many people, and will be greatly missed by family, friends, patients, and the community at large. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Arizona and other places, while you cope with the loss of a very great man, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. Know that with time, your sorrow may pass, and you will have so many memories to keep him close to you in your heart. By sharing those memories with others, they will come to "know" Jack , just as all of you have known him over the years.

May God give you comfort for your sorrows, and peace for your heart. Big hugs to all of you.

Your cousin,

Charlene Sasnett-Miller

A celebration of my Grandpa Jack's life is in order. The memories of great times I was able to spend with him fill my heart with joy. I consider myself very lucky to have had such a wonderful Grandfather who taught me so much. I'm still trying to learn the lessons about how to use my irons on the golf course. I want to wish Hank, Mom, and all of my Aunts and Uncles the very best through this hard time. Let the beautiful memories of this wonderful man help get you through.

Love,
Jason

Dear Roads Family,
I'm sorry I can't be with you on Saturday I'll be with you in spirit. I'm seeing to my own Father's health issues at the present time. I'll miss ole Jack (the ripper) He was a little guy with a HUGE HEART, he loved his family and his pets dearly. I still hear his great brazen laugh which puts a big smile on my face.
Best to all the kids and especially Hank.

Dr.Roads was my doctor as a child...I remember a caring, funny & honest man. As a very young child I threw a book at my Grandmother and she tossed it back into my room..just as I turned around...the book hit my eye. I had a lovely shiner!!! My grandmother flipped out and in a panic rushed me to Dr.Roads' office. He looked at my shiner, decided I would live and sent me out the door with the following remark,"I guess you won't throw a book at your Grandmother again will you?" To this day it is still one of my mother's favorite stories to tell. As a grown woman and mother of 3, countless bits of advice on parenting have come from my mother, via Dr. Roads!! I wish my kids had been fortunate enough to have had him as their doctor. He will truly be missed and my deepest condolences to his family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
