John Sime Obituary
Scottsdale - John Curtis Sime, 84, passed away on October 20, 2018, in his home in Scottsdale, AZ after a long illness. John was born in McVille ND on July 22, 1934, and graduated from high school in Velva ND in 1952. He then served in the U.S. Army, during which time he was stationed overseas in Korea and Japan. John eventually settled in the Los Angeles area, working in the garment industry, as well as writing articles and short stories. In 1978 he moved to Tempe AZ to join his mother, Alice H. Sime, upon the death of his father, J. A Sime. Shortly thereafter he was severely injured in a traffic accident that left him permanently disabled. Following his mother's death in 1997, John relocated to Scottsdale AZ, where he continued his writing and became an active supporter of the Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE). John is survived by his Labrador dog Paco, by his friend and care-giver Consuelo Davila and her husband Juan, and by his brother Richard Sime, Bronx NY. He was interred on October 23 in Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Phoenix AZ.

To the Sime family, my sincere condolences go out to your family during this difficult time. When facing grief we are reassured of both God & his son's everlasting love for us at John 14:18, which says "I will not leave you bereaved. I am coming to you."
