Joseph Peggs Obituary

Peggs, Joseph G.
88, passed away November 20, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 17, 1920 into an Arizona pioneer family. His father, Joseph Mosby Peggs, was elected to the Arizona State Legislature in 1931. Joe graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1939 where he participated in sports and was chosen for the All Arizona State team twice. He attended the University of Arizona where he held honors in scholastics and athletics and was nominated to the Football All Border Conference. "GO CATS." He served in World War II with the 163rd Infantry and upon returning to Arizona, Joe married Ireane Donner. For two years he was the Head Football Coach at Eastern Arizona College until he was hired as a Special Agent for the FBI 1951-1971. His wife Ireane preceded him in death. He is survived by his four children and four grandchildren. We celebrate his life, his humor, his love for his family, his friends, golf and the Wildcats. Services Saturday, November 29, 2008, 1:00PM, The Church of the Epiphany, 2222 S. Price Rd., Tempe, AZ, 85282.
