Joseph Richard Stravolo

Colorado Springs - Joseph Richard Stravolo passed away on August 10, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, surrounded by his family. Richard was born in Chambersburg, PA on July 10, 1937 to Samuel and Isabelle Stravolo.

"Dick" grew up playing football as a quarterback at Chambersburg High School as well as Gettysburg College. He served 8 years in the U.S. Army reserves. He was a CPA in a national firm and served his clients with the utmost integrity. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi, a Rotarian and also a treasurer for the United Way of Tucson, Arizona. He served on the board of the Challenger Space Center of Peoria. Dick loved to play golf, travel, was an avid fan of the Dbacks and Cardinals, and he loved a great martini.

He married Marie DiPierro on November 12, 1960 in Newburgh NY. They were married for 57 happy years and had four daughters.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Marie and 4 daughters, Cheryl (John) Bisel, Christine (James) Duffey, Marcia Thorpe-Selecky and Lisa Stravolo. He is also survived by grandchildren Jeremy Benavidez, Jessica Wellington, Dalton Bisel, Lauren Crow, Jordan Duffey, Taylor and Chandler Thorpe, Jadyn Selecky, and Austin Fields. His great grandchildren are Payton, Marley, Lawson, Levi, Alice and Elijah. He is also survived by his siblings Anne Gehling (Bill Birdsong) and Bill (Judy) Stravolo; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be in November in Peoria Arizona for family and friends.
