Joe was a mentor to me as a young police officer. I was so impressed by his high standards, ethics and integrity. He generously gave of his time as a play by play announcer at Laveen summerball programs. He was an amazing, kind and loving man. We loved the way he loved Gloria and his children. Susan and I have always loved this family. We are sad for your loss but feel so very blessed to have had him in our lives. Silverio and Susan Ontiveros

Joe was our neighbor; friend and someone who we considered family. I have to say he was a character. It always seemed as if he knew when my kids where going outside to play or when my husband and I were coming home from work because there Joe would be, we could not always see him but he always greeted us with his memorable whistle from across the way. He meant a lot to my sons, who would turn to him for advice seeing him like their second father. He was a great man, husband, father, tata and police officer who gave a great service to those he protected. Now he is home with the lord, but he will be deeply missed. My deepest sympathy to the family, you are all in mine and our family's prayers. God Bless.

Joe was my old pal, one of my best friends. I lived next door to him for 20+ years. I grew up with his two youngest daughters. It was like I was part of their family. Joe and I talked, laughed and played all the time. Even did a little work now and then when we needed to. Seems like it wasn't that long ago. He was a second father to me. He was a role model for me to look up to. I'll never forget him and all the times we shared together. I'll miss you Joe. My deepest sympathy to the family.
