Kent Carter Obituary

Carter, Kent L
74, of Glendale, AZ, passed away on May 8, 2012, after a short Illness. He was a Korean War-Era Army veteran, and enjoyed an exemplary career as a court reporter. After retiring from active reporting, he trained court reporters on transcription programs and taught entry-level court reporting. Most recently, he enjoyed volunteering at the Glendale Adult Center. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly fifty years, Glenda; his daughters Linda Calderon (Roberto) and Ann Pearson (Michael). A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 10:00am at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Madison Street Veterans Associations or St. Mary's Food Bank. Condolences may be offered at www.chapelofthechimesmortuary.com

I knew Kent from the Glendale Adult Center ,we worked in the computer room. He was always helpful and we were always amazed what people put in the cash box instead of money. He was always a gentleman and will be missed, not seeing him there is a great void.

I met Kent when I was a new court reporter and have always looked up to him. Later I met Glenda when she did transcribing for me. I then met the Linda and Ann. The Carters are like extended family to me, and I shall miss Kent and his dry sense of humor.

I had the pleasure of working with Kent a number of years ago. We worked for a software company where I did tech support and training. Kent was a wonderful supervisor and became a friend. I had great respect and admiration for Kent and the way he approached life. He always managed to say things that were reassuring and comforting. My heart goes out to Glenda, Linda and Ann during this difficult time. I will never forget him and what a great person he was!

Mr. Carter will always be remembered fondly. I had the honor of knowing him for as many years as I did. He was a person with a dignified personality that commanded respect. Mr. Carter will be missed. I'm confident his love for his wife, Mrs. Carter and his daughters Linda and my best friend, Ann will live on in their hearts forever. I have prayed extensively for the Carter family as they face this dark hour. Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord, and may the perpetual light shine upon him, may his soul and all the souls of faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace!
