In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I am in total SHOCK! I went to school with Blake (Tonalea and Coronado) for many years and we have kept in touch over the years thru the Coronado High School web-page. He was actually my first boy-friend :) He had a White Mustang that was AWESOME! Oh...the good ole' days :) I was just doing some checking on the web-site and found out that he is no longer with us!!
:( I am REALLY sad! Blake was a VERY good friend in my younger years...we decided we made better friends than boyfriend-girlfriend! But, we sure had a lot of good times together! God Bless his family and I am truly sorry to hear of his passing, He will be missed by many! Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair how loved ones are taken away from us! Any other fellow classmates can E-mail me at: [email protected] (Yep, I have moved to the Great White North!)

Karen,

Many hearts are heavy with the loss of Blake, none more so than his neighbors who he kept a watchful eye over for the 6 years we were together as a tight knit community. Blake’s joy for life, his sense of humor, kindness and his laughter will be greatly missed during our gatherings, we will honor his memory and raise a toast for Blake!

We were lucky to have known him, even for the short amount of time; it was a lifetime of memories. We’ll miss him terribly.

Un abrazo con todo cariño,

Karen,

My family has known you and Blake for the last six/seven years, and I am so happy the two of you entered into our lives. Blake was a wonderful man, kind hearted, fun to be with, and just a magnificant person to be around. I will always remember the great memories we have from the pool parties we used to go to at Tim and Paul's house. The two of you were always there for every major event in my life, and I am very blessed by that. I will always hold Blake in a special place in my heart. Me and the family are here for you Karen, if you need anything or just someone to talk to! All our love and prayers, Becky and Ramon

Karen,

Words fail us at moments like these, but we both know that it isn't the words anyone will remember. What we will remember is his smile, the sparkle in his eyes, his sense of adventure, the anticipation of what he'd do next . . . Isn't it funny? - I didn't know Blake well, but then again, I think I knew exactly who he was - because of who loved him and whom he loved.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

Loss is never easy - but there is always a cost associated with loving someone. Karen...words cannot express or console the grief that you are no doubt feeling; only time can begin to move you to a place of moving on with your life.

I remember fondly the hallway bantering that Blake and I would engage in on a regular basis, and even now look back and laugh at the sillyness of it all. Blake was a good man and I know that he adored you. God's Word says that weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Though you may find even the mundane tasks difficult now, time will heal the hurt and replace that with the memories that you have of your life with him and how much better it is now because of that relationship.

Our family joins with you in sorrow, and in asking that the Holy Spirit bring you comfort in this time of sorrow.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

June 26, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
