Larry was affectionately known as Harold's Boy, Larry's Dad or Grampie. Larry was born in Phoenix Arizona, August 31st 1942 was a long time resident of Tempe. He worked for his father Harold for many years at the Richfield Arco gas station formerly at 7th street and Mill Ave. while attending school. Several good years were passed there with his friends and fishing buddies pumping gas. Larry and Ann were high school sweethearts and graduated from Tempe High School in 1960. His talents as an accountant and advisor will be greatly missed. Larry was my friend and my account while I was a police union leader and personally. He hired my wife, Dorothy as a CPA.
He also worked undercover helping me expose a large fraud. I miss him and those days.
I recall when he took over his Uncle's firm in the Luhrs.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Larry's passing. Ann my heart goes out to you and your children. Larry was like a father to me, taking me under his wing showing me his way to run his office. I worked for him as a young adult and left the firm and Phoenix a woman. I have thought of him often since leaving Phoenix. He will be missed!

Larry was an inspiration to me for many years. I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from him as an employee at his boat dealership and later at his accounting firm. I always admired his strong family values and fairness to all who worked for him. He will leave a huge void on this earth.
