Leon Davis Obituary
Just 3 1/2 months after celebrating his 80th birthday on the 4th of July with family and friends, Bud passed away at home in Glendale AZ on October 24, 2013. Born July 4, 1933 in Sharps Chapel, TN; Bud grew up in Tennessee and Indiana and moved to Chicago in the early 50's after serving in the Air Force. In 1955 he married Mercedes and after having 2 children, Debbie and Jeff, they moved to Phoenix in 1958. There they had children Mike, Phil, Cindy, and Paul. Bud and Mercedes moved to Glendale in 1978. Bud was a gifted artist, but his talent was not limited to pencil, ink, paint or airbrush. He also was a technical photographer, filmmaker, and wrote 3 novels. During retirement (thanks to Norm) he took up woodworking and made over 40 quality pieces of furniture. He is preceded in death by his son Jeff. Bud leaves behind his beloved wife of 58 years Mercedes, sister Ruby, Nieces and nephews, his kids, grandchildren; Nikki, Kelly, Ben, Joshua, Ashlee, Arin, Delany, and Shane, Great grandchildren Brandon and Stella. His legacy lives on with the beautiful memories and artwork he leaves behind. We will miss you Dear Ol Dad. Services will be held at St. Louis the King Parish 4331 W Maryland Ave Glendale, AZ on November 16, 2013 at 10:00AM.

Mertz and the entire family...you are all in my prayers. It was such a shock. Bud WAS a Firecracker! He was so talented. Always so sweet and funny the times I came to visit. Now he is up by my Mom Gen. I am sure they will go at it up above. Should be fun and interesting. Next time you hear thunder it might be them ! He is at peace now. Miss you Bud !
