Lester Satterthwaite Obituary

Satterthwaite, Lester
82, of Tempe passed away on January 5, 2012 in the presence of his wife and all five of his children. Lester was a Professor Emeritus of Educational Technology at ASU. His last years were plagued by declining health, but he bore his infirmities and limitations with grace and dignity, saying that there was apparently something he still had to learn or accomplish. Born in 1929, Lester was the adored only child of Lester Lee and Mabel Satterthwaite, who raised him to be a devout, loving and responsible man. He is survived by his cherished wife of sixty years, Joella, and his five children and their families: Barry (Tally), Mark, Cindy Weaver, Lester Lee III "Chip" (Gina) and Elizabeth Moenich (Don). He will be sorely missed for his intelligence and humor, but most for his loving guidance and acceptance.

Lisa and I are deeply saddened. Les was our mentor at ASU for many years. He had a profound impact in our lives. We think of him often and still follow the principles he taught us. We will always have the fondest memories of this gentle man.
