Lillian Thurman Obituary

Thurman, Lillian Helen
Lillian Helen Matheny Thurman was born on Oct. 23, 1911 to Guy and Viola Reeves in Quebec, TN, and passed away on Feb. 2, 2010. Lillian loved TN and was an enthusiastic fan of the UT Volunteers. Following the death of her first husband, Daniel M Matheny, Lillian enjoyed traveling. On one of her trips to visit her daughter Betty Ann in AZ, she met Frank Thurman. Frank and Lillian were married in 1978 and Lillian became an Arizonan who still loved TN but enjoyed being in AZ near her daughter, her son-in-law Arlie, and her grandchildren David and Christy. On special occasions the family always enjoyed Lillian's delicious pies, and on New Years Day she provided black-eyed peas to all the family for good luck. Lillian was a member of Camelback Church of Christ. Lillian is predeceased by her daughter, Betty Ann, and her second husband, Frank. Survivors include son-in-law Arlie Ramsey, grandchildren David Ramsey and Christy Sharn (Gary), great grandchildren, Sophia and Sierra Sharn, and stepdaughter Barbara Franzman (Seth). A graveside service will be held on Friday, Feb. 5, at 1:30pm at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road., Scottsdale, AZ.
