Louis Pete Obituary
Louis Francis (Franklin) Pete was born on September 24, 1938 to Louis Napoleon and Bertha Landrum Pete, in Douglas, Arizona. He passed peacefully on March 17, 2020, surrounded by his immediate family. He attended elementary school and South Mountain High School in Phoenix. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Phoenix.
Louis served in the US Navy until his 1959 honorable discharge. He began his career in public service as a licensed real estate person. He retired from the City of Phoenix after 25 years of dedicated service.
Louis was a devoted member of the South Mountain Seventh-day Adventist Church, and was loved by our "Village." He leaves his wife of 64 years, Josephine; daughters, Cheryl Pete and Traci Pete; grandsons Bradford Pete-Hill (Lacey), Quentin Grigsby, and Kevin Grigsby; sister Ara Vivian Hereford; sister-in-law Josie Green; brother-in-law Jesse Green; goddaughters; extended family and dear friends.
A "Walkthrough Viewing" will be held Monday, April 6, 2020, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix AZ. In lieu of flowers, please donate to: Phoenix Emerald Foundation, Inc., Academic Scholarships, P.O. Box 67956, Phoenix, AZ 85082. Online Donations: www.phoenixemeraldfoundation.org

It was a pleasure to have known and been in the company of Mr. Louis Pete, whether a casual passing at the Post office or when attending a scheduled event, Mr. Pete was always welcoming, gracious and beaming with that bright smile. I appreciate the support he and Dr. Josephine Pete extended to programs coordinated to remember and honor those that served the country in time of conflict. A good man, Mr. Pete will greatly missed. May he find rest from his earthly labor, and may his family find comfort in reflecting on past good times shared.

What a great man. I was so saddened to see his death reported in our CIty of Phoenix retiree newsletter. I was privaleged to work with him for many years. If he told you something you knew you could count on it. He loved people and could lighten the room in tense moments. I know because I saw it in many situations. He raised a wonderful daughter Traci who I also enjoyed working with for many years. Much love to the Pete family.

To the entire Pete family. I'm sending my dearest sympathy to you all. Words will never explain his empty space. He will forever be in my heart. Some of the things I received in life from my Uncle, I will never forget. He father figure presence in my life will never be forgotten. Rest in Heaven Uncle Petie!!!!! Gone but never forgotten
