Lyle McGhee Obituary

Lyle Donald McGhee (Santa, age 83) Loving husband, father and friend, passed in his sleep at Brighton Gardens Hospice Care 7-4-2008 in the early morning. He is survived by his loving wife Elaine McGhee and 3 sons Bruce-(Victoria), Kim, Lee-(Vicki) and lets not forget all his many feathered and furred "grandchildren". Lyle moved from Chicago with his wife and children as a Motorola draftsman. Lyle worked for Motorola for 33 years, a career we are proud of; also he helped with the after hour recreation groups such as the trap and skeet club, golf and bowling leagues and many of the fishing trips. Lyle also served in the Army Air Core for 3 years during WWII. In his retirement years Lyle many hours volunteering with many charitable organizations, one of his favorite ones was Saint Mary's Food Bank. But if you wanted to see him light up, all you had to do is talk to him about the hours he spent playing Santa Clause and he would smile like a child at Christmas. Any Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Family asks in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to Hospice of the Valley or Saint Mary's Food Bank. Lyle will be missed but he will never be forgotten. Until we are all together again, we love you.

To the McGhee family: Our deepest sympathy goes out to you. We will always remember the many hunting trips when Lyle was a member of our hunting group. He always made sure we all practiced strict firearm safety rules. We enjoyed the many luncheons we had together. His passing leaves an emptyness in our lives. We will miss him greatly.
