Manuel Gonzalez Obituary
Goodyear - Manuel Vizzerra Gonzalez passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. He now rests with his guardian angels - his sister Irene and his son Mark. Manuel was born June 1, 1946 to parents Esperanza and Gustavo Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife Emily, granddaughter Celeste, daughter Elisa Medrano (Reyes), brothers Gus Gonzalez (Jessie), George Gonzalez, Hector Gonzalez (Peggy), sisters Nellie Sanchez, Maggie Mesquita (Leo), Mary Olivarria (Joe), Lupe Wood (Richard), Rosemary Story (Kent) as well as a large and loving family of nieces and nephews.
Manuel was a proud Marine who served in the Vietnam war. In addition to his love for his community, Manuel enjoyed watching tennis, golf and baseball. Manuel loved going to the casino and, in his younger years, he enjoyed the dog and horse races. He was a loving, understanding and witty man who will be dearly missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Services will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Avondale, AZ. Viewing will be from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM followed by rosary and mass. The burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetary in Avondale, AZ directly after the service.
