Marcus Mendoza Obituary
Marcus left this earth on June 9th, 2021 to sing with the Angels in Heaven. He was born on September 23, 1983 in Mesa, AZ. He moved to Chino Valley in August 1990 where he lived all through his school years and into adulthood. He worked for Chino Heating and Cooling for several years before leaving to venture into something new, which prompted him to move to Prescott Valley where he lived until the time of his death.
Marcus was a huge Arizona Cardinals fan and loved all sports (both to watch and play). He was also a huge fan of Country music and always wished that he had pursued his dream of singing, further than karaoke. The only thing Marcus loved more than these was family and friends. He made life lasting friends everywhere he went. He had a beautiful smile, a huge laugh and a sense of humor to beat all others.
Marcus is preceded in death by his Father, Manuel C. Mendoza, of Chandler and survived by his mother, Johnna (Gaines) Vail of Prescott, his loving and devoted wife, Melissa (Yovish) Mendoza and her children, Stacy Yovish & Tim, Angela Yovish, Albert Silva and Angel Silva, also 5 beautiful grandchildren that he adored. He is also survived by siblings Mark Leon & Melodie, Desiree (Mendoza) Walker & LJ, Jason Mendoza & Tracy, Adrienne (Mendoza) Rolison & Bill, Jake Vail & D'Ven, Michael Mendoza, Rhonda Mendoza and Urissa Boline & Andrew. He also had numerous nieces & nephews, other family members and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Chino Valley High School on Saturday June 26, 2021 from 1-4 PM. 760 E Center St, Chino Valley, AZ 86323. Services by Joel Boyd.

Marcus is my other son.. the one from another Mama and the brother my son never had! He made us all laugh all the time. There are no words to express just HOW much you will be missed and NEVER forgotten! I will sorely miss that big bear hug and my special spot in your arm pit because of it! The good lord must have a very special need that only you could fill for you to have left us so so soon! Rest in forever peace and keep em laughing ! We love you !

My heart goes out to those who loved Marcus most. His mother, Johnna. his wife Melissa, his siblings and so many more. He had a loving heart and will be missed by so many. He was well loved in his life time but he left this world far too soon. My prayers are for all who grieve. My sincere and deepest condolences go out to Marcus family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
I got to know and work with Marcus for a few years at the Home Depot.
Ever since our very first hand shake I knew Marcus was a solid type of guy. Marcus had a great sense of humor, we always tried to make each other laugh every time we worked together.
Marcus was the type of person that a long road trip or a long night at work will go by fast just because Marcus will keep us all laughing and smiling.
After our Home Depot days, we stayed in contact by phone or we will catch each other at a local gas station or store. We will immediately begin our whistle language we created back in the Home Depot days. Some might not believe this but we understood each other by whistling. Every time we did people looked at us like we where crazy.
But neither Marcus or I cared what people thought, at the end we where both laughing about it.
Marcus was my friend, I was one of the lucky ones that got to meet and work with Marcus. The rest of the world that did not, missed out on a loving, funny and caring person.
I will miss you my friend.
Until we meet again.

When I was an electrician at Haskins and I became a lead man Marcus was my very 1st trainee. He was so funny and wild. We also used to play basketball in Chino and I ended up borrowing his basketball shorts and he let me keep them, I continued to use them as my only B-ball shorts for way over a decade lol.
Knowing him is a bright spot in my memory and my prayers go out to his family.
