Margaret Askew Obituary
of Bowling Green, KY, passed away on April 22, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Richard Chester Smith and Ida Mae Newman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Wallace Adams Askew and her brother, Richard Douglas Smith. During her life Mrs. Askew resided in Phoenix, AZ, Louisville, KY and Bowling Green, KY. She was a graduate of Davies County School of Nursing. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bowling Green. Mrs. Askew was a very proud nana and was loved by her nieces and nephews. She was passionate about her career in nursing. She loved traveling to visit family and trips with high school classmates. She was very creative and had a passion for painting. Mrs. Askew is survived by two sons, Rick Askew (Eileen) of Seattle, WA and David Askew of Algonquin, IL; one sister, Marianna Lam (Jon); one brother, Wendell Fred Smith Sr. (Mary) of Bowling Green, KY; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Olivia Askew; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday April 26, 2014 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.

So sorry to hear of Margaret's passing.
She and Wally were great people & it was an honor
knowing them. Although it's been several years since Wally's
passing, several members of our staff at John-Kenyon have fond memories of Wally & Margaret. God Bless

Thoughts and prayers are with Margaret's family - God has received a beautiful angel in his home. I knew Margaret, Wally and their handsome sons in our youthful days in Phoenix. May you speak often and smile often of the happy memories you treasure. Take care of each other.
