Matthew Rubio Obituary
Matthew to his side. Born to devoted parents Mario and Alice Rubio in Mesa, Arizona on May 14, 1984. Brothers, Christopher, Gabriel, nephew, Xavier and nieces, Shaynna and Jaylynn Rubio, will deeply miss their brother and uncle. Matt was a gentle soul who loved his parents and family deeply. After graduating from high school, he attended Estrella Community College. Matt was a hard worker. Working at Spectrum Mechanical and Home Depot. He touched many lives. Riding quads and spending time with close family and friends was one of the things he enjoyed. He is survived by his maternal grandparents Mike and Emilia Lopez of Guadalupe, Arizona. Matt has many aunts, uncles, countless cousins, friends and neighbors who will miss him. Matt, without you, our hearts eternally ache. We will miss you forever. We will never forget. A rosary and memorial service will be held in tribute on Friday October 26, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Resthaven Mortuary, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, Arizona.

Hey Shorty,
You're always in my thoughts. I was remembering the last time we spoke you were heading out the door you pointed to me and said "You know the question you asked me earlier, my answer is Yes." That would make you mine forever lol Haha, You made my heart happy. You were my best friend and with Karlton we were quite the trio. My memories of you bring a smile to my face. I'm grateful. I can't wait to see you again.

I can't believe it has been 2yrs since you have been gone. We all miss you so much and you will always be in our hearts! You have left so many great memories that will be remembered forever. I laughed the other day thinking of all the funny lil pranks we used to play on Nana when she would take care of us, we were so lil yet so smart! Or also all the times we would hide from Mark, Steph and Chris because they would pick on us lol! Thanks for all the great memories, love and miss you always cuz!

I miss you! My daddy just passed away last month... I know you guys are hanging out there together! I was reading my yearbook the other day, and I seen what you wrote me and I just broke down. I remember all our good times in class together. LOL. I always told you we were gonna get married... lol... too funny. I miss you buddy.

Matt was simply an unselfish person. The way he re-entered my family life, with his easy going personality & incredible sense of humor along with a smile that is as bright as the sun. He made it so easy to be yourself around him.
My daughter Elizabeth loves Matt. He would always take time out and play with her. He showed great patience and always made her laugh. Liz loves to pull Matt’s ears and would always motion to him by grabbing her own ears and point @ him while yelling “Matt, I’m going to pull your ears. Damn she misses him a lot!
For my husband Rene, that was his buddy! They spent a lot of time together @ work and with one another’s families. My husband loves him like a little brother. Rene would always complain that he is never on time. And in the same breathe express how much fun they always had together. My husband will internally ache with the loss of his True friend, as well as my whole family.

These R my words about an individual who Shined incredibly beyond anyone. Who I have had the distinct honor and pleasure of being part of a crucial but most of all important part of me and my family reestablishing our life in the AZ. A place young Mateo called “The place to be.” (With the exception of Hooters) Who can blame the young man who had his own manual on life. For example: “Always late but worth the wait.” Another favorite was “Work 8, Then skate.” Very Nice
Bottom line Matt is, and Matt does, Period!!! Always remembered never forgotten. In closing from the bottom of my (old guy) heart. Miss U, Luv U, and most of all will never forget the things U. showed me, well schooled me in. And will make sure to pass it on, with lil brother from another mother. We were saddened to hear of Matthew's untimely death. I have fond memories of Matthew when he was a member of Cub Scout Troop 208. Matthew was always a hard worker and had a great sense of humor. I remember his competitive spirit when earning his new badges. Although we have not been in direct contact for several years, you were not far from our hearts.
