Sarten, Eban (EJ) James Medina Sarten, Alexis Marie Salas, passed away Monday, December 14th in Peoria AZ. Matthew attended Peoria High School and played on the 1995 State Championship Football team. He was employed by the Salvation Army. Matthew is survived by his parents, Gary (Roxie) Sarten and Beverly Puryear, 2 brothers Jared (Leslie) Sarten and Russell Sarten, 2 sisters Andrea (Kirk) Fauber and Katie (Brandon) Lykins and 3 cousins, his grandparents William and Betty Batty and many aunts and uncles. Alexis, 10, was born in Glendale and was a former student at Surprise Elementary School and was currently in Mrs Stancill's 4th grade class at Zuni Elementary School in Peoria. She was a former cheerleader for the El Mirage Chiefs football team. She is survived by her mother Jessie Medina Salas and father Urial Salas, grandmother Modesta Salas and Anthony and Veronica Medina. Uncles Miguel (Corina) Salas and Marcos Antonia Silva, aunts, Martha (Johnny) Ortega, Juana (Marcelino) Oranda and Rosario (George) Garcia. Her favorite aunt and uncle Belinda and Wendel. Eban (EJ), 5, born in Glendale and was currently in Mrs Makedonsky's kindergarten class at Zuni Elementary School in Peoria. Gabriel, 5 mo, was born in June in Glendale. He was mommy and daddy's little angel. Eban and Gabriel are survived by their mother Jessie Medina Salas, grandparents Gary Sarten and Bev Puryear. All 3 children are survived by aunts and uncles Annette (Ben) Chavez, Anthony Jr(Lisa) Medina and 5 cousins. Service will be held Thursday December 22, 2005 at 1PM at the Radiant 15333 W Paradise Lane, Surprise AZ. Burial to follow at Sunwest Cemetery 15399 Grand Ave. Services entrusted to Shadow Mountain Mortuary.
