Mildred Burtcher Obituary

Mildred Ingram/Gale Burtcher was born 12 October, 1912 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Estalla Drake and James Ingram. She was adopted by Anna and Jasper Gale of the Virden Valley, New Mexico, both of whom passed away within 7 years of her adoption. She was raised by various members of the Gale Family in the Morenci, Duncan and Safford, Arizona area. She married Perry B. Burtcher 29 Aug 1929. They had 2 children, Margaret and Robert (deceased). She was exceptionally talented in the arts and organized the first Payson, Arizona Art Show and had several shows of her own. She was a large contributor in the work of the painting of the Phoenix Bird at the Phoenix International Airport, operated a gift shop in Scottsdale among many other projects she entertained during her life. She is survived by her daughter Margaret McClure and husband Harold and daughter-in-law, Anne Bowen Burtcher, 6 grandchildren and their families, Michael McClure and wife Lynn, of Meridian, Idaho, Scott McClure and wife Deborah of Andover, Kansas, Dana McClure and wife Susan, Shawn Shouse and husband Harold, Robin Burtcher and husband John Nesvig, all of Phoenix, Arizona, Robert Burtcher of McHenry, Illinois. 8 great grandchildren, Toni McClure, Jennifer and husband Tracy Dixon, Meridian, Idaho, Aaron McClure, April and husband Hans Lagnevall, Andover Kansas, Christine Netser and husband Michael, of Phoenix, Jason McClure and wife Carrie, of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Jessica Hobbick and husband Frank, Joseph Shouse, and Thomas Burtcher, of Phoenix, Arizona and 6 great great grandchildren, Mikala and Cody Netser, Franklin Hobbick, Kyra Lagnevall, Alicia and Alexandria Davis/McClure, Camron McClure and Corbin Dixon. Graveside service 2pm, Saturday, Feb. 21, 2004 at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, Arizona.
