Jasser, Mohamed K., MD
67, passed away April 13, 2009 in Scottsdale. Born in Aleppo, Syria, March 6, 1942, Dr. Jasser practiced cardiology and nuclear medicine for 34 years and practiced in Phoenix since 1991. He will always be remembered as a respected and loved physician who was dedicated to his patients, practice, community, and family. After receiving his M.D. from the University of Damascus, he completed his specialty training in internal medicine and cardiology at Tulane University in New Orleans and in nuclear medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was formerly Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Section of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center until 2005 and was ranked by his students as a top 10% teacher. He will be missed dearly by all of his family, colleagues, patients and friends who shared his love for his calling as a healer. Dr. Jasser is survived by his son, M. Zuhdi (Gada) Jasser, MD of Scottsdale; two daughters, Nedda Jasser of NYC, NY and Samar Jasser, MD of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters, Mais Jasser of Los Angeles, CA and Ghaiss (Khaled Ruomo) Jasser of Paris, France; Aiche S. Jasser, mother of his children, and three grandchildren, Zachariah, Zaina and Zaid Jasser. Funeral services will be held at 12:30p.m. Wednesday, April 15th at the Islamic Center of the Northeast Valley, 12125 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ, followed by interment at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd, Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers the Jasser family requests memorial contributions be made to the M.K. Jasser Memorial Fund, PO Box 1832, Phoenix, AZ 85001. Messinger Indian School Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
