Norma Colledge Obituary

Colledge, Norma Jeanne
Norma Jeanne Colledge, 76, of Tempe, Arizona, a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend slipped away peacefully from this world Wednesday, September 28, 2011. Her funeral will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona October 4th at 2 PM. Jeanne was born to George Edward Atkinson and Phyllis Mary Wall January 27, 1935 in Pontiac Michigan, the youngest of 4 children. Her cheerful personality sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile will be forever missed by all the lives she touched. Family and friends were her world. She is survived by her husband, John Wallace Colledge; 3 daughters, which she loved unconditionally, Pamela Jeanne Young, Karen Joyce Carter and April Lynne Passeretti; 5 grandsons and 7 great grand children. Jeanne was a talented woman. She enjoyed travelling, trying new things, playing the organ, being with friends, playing board games, music, but above all she loved to dance. Jeanne had a very outgoing personality, a wonderful sense of humor and made life long friends everywhere she went. She was loved by all. Her infectious laugh, appreciation of every moment, generosity and limitless love will be deeply missed. It is her wish to be remembered as she lived her life. Let the good memories she leaves us with be our strength, and fill our hearts and minds when we pause and feel sadness. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jeanne's name to Hospice of the Valley (www.hov.org/ways_to_give.aspx) or to the American Liver Foundation (www.liverfoundation.org/chapters/arizona) Arrangements entrusted to Tempe Mortuary.

James and I were just talking about a bird he saw on the ship the last couple of days. He found it dead this morning and was reminded of how short life is. He also then mentioned that it was mom's passage to heaven's anniversary. Life is so short. I learned so much from my mom...my dad and my oldest sister Pam. I love and miss them. Yes, time does heal but the memories will last forever. I hope one day when it's my time to leave this earth that I will have people that will have loving memories of me too...just like my mom. Believe: God has her, and others that have gone before me, resting in his hands,

With a thought of Jeanne I am reminded how short our lives are as I think of the loved ones that have passes before me. I have fond memories when I think of Jeanne's warmth and kindness that touched everyone around her. I am saddened as I think of how April misses her mom as well as her sister Pam. Though it's been 13 years since Jeanne has left us her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those that loved her. She had a unique way of making every moment memorable. I honor her legacy by ensuring that her memory remains a guiding light in my life.

Wow! It's been 12 years! Just Wow! Dad's been gone for 23 years Just wow. Anybody reading this, hug and squeeze the ones you love. No matter how old or young because there's no guarantee of a tomorrow for anyone. Loved the hospice Dr. with mom that reminded us to love on her, hug on her and tell her how much she is loved. I give the same advice to everyone but especially to the ones with sick and dying loved ones. From everyone I've experienced it with, Death is peaceful! Time doesn't necessarily heal the wounds of losing someone, but time does heal the surface which helps us go on. Love and miss my Mom, Dad, and sister Pam! Looking forward to them greeting me when it's my time to go.

Can't believe it has been 2 yrs. Tom said he was going to ask me the other day,"have you called your mom lately" like he used to do periodically.
On the anniversary of your passing I had a hard time. I thought it was supposed to get better.
Love you Ma and miss you just as much.

high mom it is now the 29th of september. Wow sure do you miss you still. All day yesterday i remembered all the times we laughed and even the times we cried. every moment i spent with you was a joy. I would not hava changed a thing. expecially the last yrs. I know that people thought i used you to keep me out of trouble. Sometimes they were right but not always. I am trying to be more independent although i still need that contact every day. Loretta has been there. Every time i wear a piece of your jewelry i feel so close to you. Keep singing and dancing for our lord and i will see you in his time. Well this is your crazy daughter signing off .

I love you and say high to dad

Well, Happy birthday mom.(Late ) as usual. It is so me. I always walk around all day thinking about it and wait until just after 12 to tell you. Some things never change. Ireally miss you mom. I think I would miss you a whole lot more if I didn't have the organ . I have picked up alot on it. I have learned to play quite a few songs. Mostly "patsy Cline". I sometimes just figure out things out of the blue. I feel that must be you guiding me. People stop by my apartment window to listen to me play those old song. It is cool. I can feel you sitting right next to me when I play. I know you are singing and dancing along with me. I miss you deeply! Happy 77th mom!
