Olivia Vergara Torrez

Phoenix - Olivia Vergara Torrez, 90, of Phoenix passed away in her home with her family present on September 4, 2020. Born on April 12, 1930 in Cottonwood, AZ, Olivia was one of twelve children. She grew up in Verde Valley and graduated from Cottonwood High School. She became an X-Ray Technician and worked in a variety of specialized sections within the Department of Radiology at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center for over 30 years.

Olivia is survived by her sisters Anna, Sister Rachel RSM, Lily, Connie, and Lupe and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and always fondly called her "Tia O." She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, September 17th at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8620 N. 7th St., Phoenix. A committal service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 9925 W. Thomas Rd., Avondale. Please visit hansenmortuary.com to offer a condolence or to share a memory of Olivia.

I am so sorry for your loss. Olivia was wonderful and we had so many wonderful conversations. I would fix little things for her and then we would sit and talk. I will miss her. cf
