Omer Reed Obituary
1932 - 2020
It is with great sadness, (and joy), that my dad Omer has joined the ranks of HEAVEN, greeted by his parents along with his children, Karl, Kelly, Kevin and Kirsten and grandson Kristoffer and many other family and friends. I could no more put into words on this paper all about my dad. If you know him - you know his greatness. He will wait for my mom, Marci, his sister Naomi, his grandchildren, Kori, Kyle, Kasey, Katy , Kirsten and Kaylin, his daughter in law, Ginny and me , Kary. He is restless in peace up there I'm sure, it's a busy place up there now.
Save the date to celebrate his amazing life with us ~ February 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at La Casa De Cristo Lutheran Church.
Please no flowers or food ~ donate to Hospice of the Valley, http://www.hov.org, or the church, www.lacasadecristo.com. in my dad's name.

I was 12 yrs old when my Dad took me go work after school at Ceram Dent as I remember the name. It was early 1980s and I was happy to help my Dad. I remember a very kind Man named Dr Reed who was very kind to me whenever I saw him at the offices. He had a cool Deloren style car & was a great guy. Rip Dr Reed

Dr. Omer Reed was so respected by my father, Dr. Gilbert Pape of Calumet City, IL. My dad went to all of his course and even brought me to one of them, which discussed life planning and touched me deeply. Both my father and I were grateful for his teaching. Dr. Reed was truly a great teacher, and more, whose legacy ripples endlessly.

I just heard from a friend of Omer's transition to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. What a great man and a life well lived serving his fellow mankind. I humbly sat at his feet to learn and he gave me more than I deserved. I am gratefull to have been your student and friend.

My husband, Ross Wetsel, DDS, passed away this year in April. I have been thinking of some of the memorable times we had over the 48 years of our marriage and before, and our experiences with Dr. Reed of course came up.

Dear Marci, I had not heard of Omer’s passing. I was looking up on line to contact you for the Holidays and instead found his obituary. I am truly sorry for your loss. He was a fun person to know. He had a wealth of knowledge that he shared with us and I am eternally grateful for having known him.
My wife Iona and I still reminisce about our trips to South Africa and rafting down the Colorado.
Our times together were a great gift.

Marci, Kary and family,
Sally and I just became aware of the passing of Omer. He, and you Marci, had an impact on our lives far beyond what you could ever imagine. Many memories are flooding through my mind - setting off your house alarm and the sheriffs arriving, the polar bear, manhole cover, travelling through South Africa, rafting the Grand Canyon, visiting Kingston, Ontario and so many courses, lectures and adventures.

Tried calling in these challenging times only to hear the news, had the great fortune of visiting a few months ago, I loved him so, looked up to him, so one of a kind, one in generations, was so much a part of my life, so grateful, so share in the sorrow but live with the part of him that so LIVES ON within so many of us.!

Marci, Kary and Family,
It is with great sadness that i heard about Dr. Reed's passing.
I have many memories when i was working at Ceram-Dent for 7 years as his gold technician and participating in his gold courses for quadrant dentistry. To this day i still have a hand full of clients that i make gold inlays for the way he taught me for primary intent seating. He made me a better technician.
I proudly display the "Teethtalk" sign you had in front of the building in my lab today.
So many fond memories of my career there. I"ll never forget how he signed his name on the Rx"s with his Big "O" and a smiley face inserted. His favorite shade was A1 followed by
"light, bright and sexy". Thank you all for the great times and making me a part of the team.
He fondly called me " Cruzer" and taught me so much and so grateful to know the family.

Omer, an amazing Gentleman that we will always remember, we were lucky to have met him on a couple of tours on his favourite Harley-Davidsons in New Zealand and had an awesome stay with him and Marci in Arizona. Omer K Reed, DDS, always a creative and energetic man, served his patients, his staff and his many friends with dedication and hard work. He accomplished advances in dentistry that continue to set the pace for practitioners, in US as well as all over the world, who want to grow and flourish. Anyone who entered his office waiting room immediately realized that Omer wanted to provide the kind of service that helped his patients to feel richly cared for. - He was a friend to all. We will always miss him.

When I was getting started in my dental practice I took a number of courses at Omer's office. I tried to do exactly what he said to do. Guess what ... it all worked. Omer changed my life and my family's life in more ways than he could ever imagine. Thank you Omer for sharing and helping me get started in practice.

He was a legend in our eyes and we're forever grateful to have been fortunate to be apart of his life, and your lovely family. He was ONE OF A KIND..., just like my father Taylor, an extraordinary gentleman! Omer was a World Class Dentist, who was always positive, always teaching, beyond creative, gifted, a leading expert in his professional skills. He was a devout Christian, a MASTER in life ! Dear Marci --With our deepest and heartfelt wishes we extend our prayerful support during this difficult time. the memories came flooding back when we
heard of Omers's passing. How do you condense all those wonderful experiences into a note of support? The soaring in gliders at Estrella Sailport?'
the wonderful cookouts at your homes. We both remember your insistence that Omer still go ahead with his over the shoulder event for Fred and I even though all the other attendees had to cancel. We recall the flight to Sedona for lunch and bacl in lecture by 1:30. We cherish the stunning picture of Christ the Carpenter (r hook) we both have displayed in our homes. But most of all , we cherish everything you both did that so changed our lives. Omer repeated ly reminded us of the quote "except for the people you meet and the books that you read,Who you are is Where you Were, When!" We are so fortunate that you and Omer were two of the significant people we met-and we have certainly been shaped personally and professionally by "where we were when"
through our learning and interactions with Omer. We can only express our never ending gratitude and wish you well as you go forth -knowing that you and Omer have had such an impact with so many Ed & Fred ps I'll try to attach some pictures to add to you memories

I am absolutely stunned. In a incredible coincidence tonight, Omer came to mind and I thought I would check on him via Google.
Not only was he one of my very first and favorite Clients at Touche Ross decades ago, I truly modeled my work style after him in that nothing was impossible.
I am so sad for your loss. However, anybody who has ever met him will never forget Omer.

When moving to the valley Omer became my dentist! I met his assistant Agee Lester, his wife Marci, and became their hairdresser! Also Louise, and Bruce Hansen their good friends! Omer started teaching and I was taken care of by two of his great dentists until he sold his practice! Omer was a leader in dentistry, teaching dental care and hygiene! I was so sorry to hear about his passing. I am a dental hygienist and met him in 1987 when our office , Dr. Van Stevens came to Arizona to his office and home. It was a great experience and we put into effect many of his practices. For me it was front desklessness. I will always remember my time there and send my condolences.

Kary, so sorry for your loss. Your dad was always kind and supportive of me and my restaurant. From the beginning he was always trying to help build our business up with referrals and using us for all his F&B needs for the practice. He even allowed me to use him for a reference on my resume while looking for my next job after I closed the restaurant and he sponsored me to use the property for my wedding( there's a good story there). I look forward to seeing you at his memorial. He may be gone but he will never leave you.
