Paul Cottle Smith

Mesa - Paul Cottle Smith passed away in his home peacefully, surrounded by family on April 21, 2021, at the age of 82, after a brief illness. Paul was born on April 4, 1939, in Abbeville, Louisiana.

Paul's greatest joy in life was his family. He also loved country music, drinking beer, cigars, barbequing and being outdoors. He was a master of woodworking and created many masterpieces that are enjoyed by friends and family.

Paul is survived by his wife Consuela Ann, daughter Cari (Geoff), sons Brett (Stephanie) and Israel (Rochelle), grandchildren Brianna (Jesse), Mason, Sophia (Daniel), Madison (Connor), Isabel, Addison, Zachary, great grandchildren Cooper, Zaydon, and another great grandson expected in June. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law, Nancy Davis. Paul is superseded by death by his parents Charles John and Anna Mae, siblings, Charles, Earnest, James and Eugenia.

Friends and family are invited to Paul's Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 8th at 2:00 PM at the family's home in Mesa, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul's honor to Gary Sinise Foundation garysinisefoundation.org

I owe so much to Paul. He was my coach, mentor and friend. He had a huge impact on so many of his players. If there's a basketball team in Heaven, they just got a great coach!
